The Coney Island Pool and hot tubs were consistently crowded with adults and kids, but the Versailles Pool and hot tubs were not, and more couples were arranged around the aft pool, swimming and using the hot tubs there. It's really fun to just take a deck plan of the Carnival Liberty (obtained at embarkation or at the guest services desk) and just explore the interiors of the ship. We ate in the Silver Olympian Dining Room, but had dined in the "anytime dining" Golden Olympian Dining Room on a previous cruise of the Mediterranean on the Carnival Liberty. Our waiters remembered our names and usual requests (white wine, decaf coffee, etc.) from the first night. A Carnival Liberty Interior Upper/Lower stateroom creatively maximizes space for a pair of cruisers. The presentation and taste of the food was marvelous, and the cover charge hasn't changed since 2006 when I dined there before. It was much like being at a drive-in theater (without the cars and making out). Videos, in-house talk shows, and news were shown in the daytime, with a movie featured each evening. Guests who get tired of lounging around, drinking, or enjoying the pool and hot tubs might want to escape to the sports deck aft on deck 11. There, they can jog, play miniature golf, basketball, or volleyball. In addition to the big-name consultants, Carnival added two new outdoor bars to the Carnival Liberty.

Our muster station was located outside on deck four and, as has been the case ever since the process was changed, it couldn’t have been easier. We checked in with the attendant who walked us through the process and then asked our room number. Because this ship hasn’t had any major renovations since Fun Ship 2.0 back in 2011, there are no USB outlets in the room.
The spa had all the usual massages and treatments, including a cruise-long "spa seminar" that featured classes on everything from weight loss to detoxification to teeth whitening. The gym had all the latest equipment (including spinning for a fee). Pilates and yoga classes also had a fee, but the rest of the classes and machines were included in the cruise fare.
All of the ships are 110,000 GT and are considered slightly larger versions of Carnival’s Destiny class. There’s always a game to be played when cruising on Carnival Liberty. Check the daily schedule and get ready for some friendly fun as you go head to head with fellow cruisers during fun activities like bingo, mini golf, arcade games, art trivia games, basketball and more. Playlist Productions offers an impressive lineup of musicals and theatrical productions, but this is no small town (er, small ship) play. Expect spectacular talent and high production levels when it comes to the stage tech, scenery and costumes.
A large ship like the Carnival Liberty can really stand out in its diversity of entertainment options. A Captain's Suite aboard Carnival Liberty features tons of indoor space, and a huge balcony when you need a little more. Back inside you'll find a king-size bed, two full bathrooms (one with whirlpool tub), plus a separate living room that sleeps another three.
This complimentary poolside dining destination offers freshly made burritos and tacos on homemade tortillas, along with a nice salsa bar with a variety of toppings. Carnival Liberty's Porthole staterooms give you the classic seafarerÂ’s view times two — a pair of round windows providing an affordable view of the ocean. If you tire of ocean-gazing, there's plenty more to do onboard, but 24-hour room service is one amenity you can enjoy as you continue to take in the view. Balcony staterooms also include “premium,” “premium vista” and “aft-view extended” balcony staterooms.
We were seated at the back of the aft dining room, which gave us a great view of the work being done on the ship. I’m sure that might have made some people nervous, but I found the whole thing fascinating. After unpacking, we stored the luggage and our carry-ons underneath the bed.
From the Venetian Palace Main Lounge to the outdoor movie screen to the comedy club to the karaoke bar, there's always something going on aboard Liberty. The big productions in the Venetian go on twice per night, but smaller games and gatherings keep the theater occupied at other times. Movies show every night on the Lido Deck, and comics take the stage nightly at the ship's comedy club. There's plenty of music too, from DJs playing all day to music trivia to dance parties, and then nighttime sees the opening of the Piano Bar and more live musicians setting up around the ship.
